Town
Clerk's Report: Fees paid to the supervisor for June
were $2249.44, total was $2789.43. The historical society is
hosting an ice cream social/band concert at town hall 6 pm,
everyone welcome.
Supervisor's Report: In a rare instance the
Oswego Town Board took action and passed a resolution to retain
Sugarman Law Firm, from Syracuse, NY, at the regular monthly
workshop on July 2, 2007. The majority of town board members
did not want to wait until today, the 9th of July, to retain
the firm that will defend the Town Zoning Board of Appeals and
their ruling concerning the United Groups proposed housing project.
It is very unfortunate that the town of Oswego has to use our
precious tax dollars to defend this action brought on by much
misinformation spread throughout our town, by unsigned flyers
stuffed in mailboxes and unsigned letters to residents. Our
tax dollars would be better spent on something the town needs
for the healthy safety and welfare of our residents.
I have submitted a request to the DEC to amend the SPEDES permit
for Sleepy Hollow Sewer District, the change in the permit will
allow for a flow meter to take readings on the effluent instead
of the influent.
Our code enforcement officer issued 10 building permits and
had 8 inspections for June.
Our dog control officer investigated 4 complaints.
We sold 4 cemetery lots and had 3 burials.
Koester Associates has inspected and preformed the routine maintenance
on the equipment at the Ontario Heights Sewer District pump
station.
The YMCA will be holding their annual tour de loop bicycle race
on August 25, 2007. Our fire department will be active in directing
traffic for the event and we are thankful to them. Good luck
to Councilor DeSacia as he rides in this event.
I will be gone on vacation the week of the 15th . If you have
a problem please contact Mr. DeSacia or any other town board
member.
