Regular Meetings of the Oswego Town Fire District

Please take notice that the Oswego Town Fire District will hold its regular monthly meetings for the year of 2022 on third Tuesday in the following months on such day at the Oswego Town Fire Station, 640 County Route 20 Southwest Oswego at 7:00 P.M. The December meeting will be held on the second Tuesday.

FD Budget notice

Please take notice that the annual election of the Oswego Town Fire District will take place on Tuesday December 14, 2021 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM at the Oswego Town Fire Station located on Co. Rte 20 Southwest Oswego for the purpose of electing one commissioner for a 5-year term commencing on January 1, 2022.

NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN that the 2022 Proposed Budget of the Oswego Town Fire District of the Town of Oswego, County of Oswego, State of New York, will be presented to the public for its consideration at a PUBLIC HEARING to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Oswego Town Fire Station on the 19th day of October 2021, 640 County Route 20, Oswego, NY 13126

Pursuant to Town Law 105, the Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, and allow public to comment on the budget at the public hearing.  This public hearing must be held to allow maximum public participation in the budget process.

The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same. 

A copy of the proposed budget is available on the Fire District website, www.otvfd.com or at the Town of Oswego Town Clerks Office, 2320 County Route 7, Oswego NY 13126 where it may be inspected by any interested person during normal business hours.

Project Description:

Applicant proposes the municipal sanitary sewer system extension to businesses and residents along CO RTE 89, Sunset Bluff, Waterview Rd, Fred Haynes Blvd, and NY 104 resulting in approximately 950 cubic yards of total fill within wetlands and adjacent areas, necessary for the installation of approximately  16,100 ft. of gravity sewer main and 78 precast concrete manholes.

Filed application documents, and Department draft permits where applicable, are available for inspection during normal business hours at the address of the contact person.  To ensure timely service at the time of inspection, it is recommended that an appointment be made with the contact person.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment.  A Negative Declaration is on file.  A coordinated review was performed.

SEQR Lead Agency Oswego Town Board

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination

Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked.  The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location.  No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than 08/12/2021 or 15 days after the publication date of this notice, whichever is later.
